The Silver Route is part of the management work conducted by the Historical Archive and Mining Museum, Civil Association throughout twenty-four years, trying to encourage new alternatives for the study, rescue, conservation and dissemination of Industrial heritage in the Mining District of Real del Monte and Pachuca: archives of companies, buildings, machinery and tools. This association carries out its work thanks to the donations it receives and the scholarships granted by various cultural organizations.
The work in favor of this region’s industrial heritage started by the AHMMAC, has originated the first Museum of Mining in the State of Hildalgo, located in the city of Pachuca and three more museums in Real del Monte: Acosta Mine Site Museum, Occupational Medicine Museum which is part of the Nicolás Zavala Cultural Center and La Dificultad Mine Site Museum and Interpretation Center; as well as a historical archive with information from 1616 until 1975.
To research, rescue, conserve and promote the industrial heritage of one of Mexico's oldest mining districts, with the aim of preserving its identity and with this contribute in the present to the cultural and tourist development and therefore economic of Real Del Monte and Pachuca, Hidalgo.
